As a Music student studying at the University of Southampton, I am devoted to playing and sharing music with other people. Principally an Oboist, I regularly give solo recitals at the University, and have performed as a soloist with the University's Sinfonietta. I am also the Prinicipal Oboist of a number of orchestras including Southampton University Symphony Orchestra, Hertfordshire County Youth Orchestra, and Watford Youth Sinfonia. At University I have also gained experience in performing in chamber groups and in pit bands for staged works such as the The Gondoliers. Performing for an audience is what I love doing most, and I am looking to study Oboe Performance at postgraduate level at Conservatoire.

I am hardworking academically and in my first year at University I received the Lyttel Prize for achieving the highest mark in Music for the year. I also achieved the highest A Level Music mark in my school, with 100% in my A2 performance and composition components. My qualification in Grade 8 theory has also helped me understand many aspects of music I perform, and has helped me in my approach as a performer. I have a broad understanding of Music Theory and Analysis, and would love to tutor pupils in Grade 5 Music Theory or in Music GCSE/A-Level.

My experience in teaching is wide ranging. Before Univeristy, I taught beginner Piano and Violin privately, and I also worked for the Hertfordshire Music Service, helping with group recorder sessions and helping run a beginner's string orchestra. I have good experience in teaching children the fundamental skills of learning their instruments and playing with one another, establishing the strong foundations needed to learn an instrument successfully.

I aim to provide each pupil with comfortable lessons that work well for them, and most importantly, I want pupils to have fun and love playing an instrument, just as I do.
