As an oboist studying a Master of Performance at the Royal College of Music, I am devoted to playing and sharing music with other people. I regularly give recitals at the college, and around London and Watford, as a soloist and also with my prize-winning wind quintet, Prince Consort Winds. Passionate about orchestral performance, I have performed with a number of ensembles, including the Royal College of Music Symphony Orchestra, Chamber Orchestra, Opera Orchestra, Wind Ensemble, Southampton University Symphony Orchestra and Watford Youth Sinfonia. Notable conductors I have played for include Antonio Pappano, Vladimir Jurowski, Thomas Zehetmair and Martyn Brabbins. In the next year I am looking forward to a number of projects including performing with the Britten-Shostakovich Festival Orchestra, competing in the Barbirolli international oboe competition, and performing the Mozart Oboe Concerto with the Watford Symphony Orchestra.

I am hardworking academically and received a number of prizes recognising my achievements. At University, I received the Lyttel Prize for achieving the highest mark in Music for my first year of study, and at my graduation I was awarded the Edward Wood Memorial Prize for achieving the highest mark of any student graduating in Music. I also achieved the highest A Level Music mark in my school, with 100% in my A2 performance and composition components. My qualification in Grade 8 theory has also helped me understand many aspects of music I perform, and has helped me in my approach as a performer. I have a broad understanding of Music Theory and analysis, and enjoy teaching pupils in Grade 8 Music Theory or in Music GCSE/A-Level.

My experience in teaching is expansive and wide ranging. I began teaching beginner Piano and Violin privately at the age of 14. At 16 I worked as a student assistant for the Hertfordshire Music Service, helping with group recorder sessions and helping run a beginner's string orchestra. During my time at university, I was a piano teacher for Portsmouth Music Academy. My experience has covered teaching pupils of all standards and across a range of ages. I have good experience in teaching beginner pupils the fundamental skills of learning their instruments and playing with one another, establishing the strong foundations needed to learn an instrument successfully.

I aim to provide each pupil with comfortable lessons that work well for them, and most importantly, I want pupils to have fun and love playing an instrument, just as I do.

I am continuing to teach piano, oboe, violin and music theory during the lockdown period, with lessons delivered over video call! Do not hesitate to send me a message or call me if you would like to enquire further.
