I work largely to the Associated Board syllabus with occasional forays into Trinity exam board. The students I coach are all ages - from seven-year-old children to seventy-year-old adults - and all levels from beginner to diploma: all have an enthusiasm to learn, which I find infectious.
The Peterborough Evening Telegraph described me as an 'inspirational teacher' when I was nominated for a 'Pride in Peterborough' Award.
I have extensive teaching experience, and have trained both children and adults for competition, music exams, auditions, school and college music entrance exams, and concert performances.
I know, myself, how to pass exams successfully: I took my letters in music in 1999. Rather longer ago, when still at school, I was awarded the Sheila Mossman Prize for the highest marks in the UK for his piano Grade VIII exam. I have also trained with the Associated Board, focussing on how grade exams are administered and marked, and how examiners assess the performances they hear.
