For nearly three decades I have been active as a solo pianist, chamber musician, teacher, adjudicator and ABRSM examiner.

Piano teaching has become one of the most important aspects of my musical life and I currently hold three posts, at Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in Cardiff, Royal Holloway, University of London and Eton College. I have a private teaching practice at my home in East London where I have a beautiful studio and two Steinway Grand Pianos.

I have huge experience teaching children and adults from beginners to Grade 8 and beyond. Every student is unique in character and personality and will progress at a different pace and I enjoy tailoring my teaching to suit each persons capability. A considerable number of my advanced students have graduated from Conservatoire and University and have established successful careers as performers and teachers. However there is nothing as important as a good start and I love teaching these important initial stages just as much as the advanced ones.

I am always delighted if my students choose to follow the ABRSM exam route and they always score highly in these exams. As an ABRSM examiner myself I am all to provide valuable insight into preparation for these exams. For many years I recorded the ABRSM demonstration CD of the Grade 1-3 piano pieces.

I also encourage and support my students to take part in local Music Festivals, should they so wish.

I also enjoy teaching Music Theory up to Grade 8.

I have a fully enhanced DBS certificate (April 2020).
