Mr James Gray

James started playing the tuba when he was 13 in the Salvation Army and continued this at the University of Chichester. Since then he has been on tours to America, Hungary and the Channel Islands. During his time at University, James was a runner-up in the 2013 Funtington Music Competition and also a member of several ensembles. He plays in Vitae Brass, a quintet formed of current and former students. Playing in this quintet allowed James to realise his love for arranging music. James particularly enjoys challenging himself by playing pieces that were not orignally written for the tuba. His personal favourites include Monti's 'Czardas' and the 'Benedictus' from Jenkins 'The Armed Man'.
